HANDWRITING
At Fernvale, we have chosen to teach our EYFS and KS1children using the Little Wandle and Penpals Handwriting schemes.
KS2 pupils currently are continuing with the cursive handwriting technique as it is believed to accelerate their joining up of writing, spelling and overall presentation.

SPELLING, PUNCTUATION AND GRAMMAR
How do we teach Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar?
At Fernvale, we provide the children with daily sessions to improve there knowledge of grammar and punctuation. This knowledge is then transferred into written tasks, on which the children will be assessed. Children also have weekly spelling sessions in which they are taught spelling patterns. These sessions are planned to meet the needs of the child at a level appropriate for them.
