SAFEGUARDING PUPILS
The welfare and safety of all pupils is of paramount importance for us.
Please ensure good supervision arrangements are in place to and from school. At the end of the school day, we only allow our pupils to leave school with named adults (or older siblings provided they are 14 years old or above).
Pupils will not be handed over to other adults unless the school has been informed by a parent/carer that they’ve made this arrangement beforehand.
Parents/carers must complete a ‘Home Time Arrangements’ Form, so these arrangements are clear for all adults who see our children out at the end of the school day.
We also ask that you keep us informed of any changes in arrangements/details by completing a new ‘Home Time Arrangements’ form. If a pick-up arrangement has changed at the last minute, or is a ‘one-off’ arrangement, then the parent/carer must inform the school office on the day of the ‘pick-up’ before to 2:30pm.
Parents/Carers must inform the school office as a matter of urgency if they are running late.
MILESTONE 3 (YEARS 5 & 6)
Whilst we do not recommend that children walk home from school by themselves, especially during the winter months, we do understand that some parents/carers are happy for their children to do so particularly because they will be attending a secondary school in the near future. As a school, we need to ensure their safety by asking those parents/carers who would like their child to walk home to complete the ‘Walking Home Consent’ form. We do not allow children in Years 4 and below to leave the school unaccompanied.
As parents, you are responsible for ensuring your child knows what to do in the event in any delay in your arrival (should they normally walk home or meet you on the route). Please note there is no supervision at the gate or outside the premises and staff will be unaware if your child has or has not been collected safely.
SCHOOL SAFETY
Please drive and park safely around the school. Parents should not park or walk across the car park at any time unless parking in the disabled bay.
Children are not permitted to walk through the car park at any time.
We do our best to arrange deliveries at times other than the beginning and end of the school day but there are occasions when vehicles do need access at these times.
Please remain considerate of local residents and do not block their driveways. Always ensure you park in a way that the bus and parents with pushchairs can get past safely.
Please do not park on the yellow zig-zag lines in front of the school gate.
