Cooking and Nutrition
At Fernvale we are really enjoying having cooking and nutrition back onto the National Curriculum.
We have our fully stocked fantastic brand new kitchen which the children are loving using.
Each week the a different year group will be producing one of their recipes. The children then take home their creations with a recipe card so they can make them again with their families.
Through each recipe we are developing a range of food technology skills and each lesson we discuss where the food we use comes from. We end each session evaluating our completed dishes
Our recipes have been selected to introduce the children to a range of healthy dishes. We are now including produce grown by the children in our own community garden!
We would love for you to try the recipes at home and we will include a copy of each recipe in the children's take home cooking bag. If you try the recipes at home please take a picture of them cooking and send or email to school. They can then share their achievements in our merit assembly.
